They say, change is constant.
I first heard these combination of words when I was in my fourth year highschool. My teacher was explaining something about physics which he later on concluded that change is the only constant in this world.
I have encountered a lot of change in my life. My father's sudden death brought a drastic change to our family especially to my mom. We just a had a lovely family dinner and we were discussing about getting a new car for the family on our way to my grandmother's grave (it happened on the halloween of 2004) when my father complained that he was having a hard time breathing. We rushed him to the nearest hospital. Things happened so fast. We later on found ourselves shouting for his name while the nurse was pumping his chest. Then few minutes later, his lifeline went into a straight line.
When I stepped into college, things around me suddenly changed in just a snap. One morning I found myself wearing a different uniform, riding a different vehicle going to school, mingling with a different pool of friends. I felt that I was undergoing a lifetime of adjustment but I slowly began to accept my new environment. My number of crying nights was lessened and I slowly lose grip of my highschool memories.
These are just accounts of changes happened within my world. I saw them evolving, I felt its process.
But when I person you knew from a very long time but its been years since you've seen each other suddenly shows up to you wearing a different personality, that's drastic for you.
I accidentally stumbled upon a friend's online account and I was in shock just by looking at her pool of photos. She looked different. From a sweet and innocent look, she evolved into a rebellious and alcoholic appearance. And her poses are way different from how she posed when we were still buddies. Back in highschool, you can see us always holding pencils for our chem test. Now, she has cigarette stick in between her index finger and middle finger.
Yes, people change.
Hence, change is constant.
